Christian Louboutin Designs Red Sole Shoes
What a terrific signature for a shoe! A red sole! Only Christian Louboutin could have created such a designer signature.
Who is Christian Louboutin? Today he is one of the hottest designers in the world, most famous for his red sole shoes. Of course, there are purses and handbags, but the high heels with the red soles were Louboutin's entrance into the world of extravagence among shoes.
Christian Louboutin, a Parisian, was born in 1963. A school dropout at age 16, Louboutin found his love for women's shoes. At an early age Louboutin discovered The Palace, a French nightclub that fostered his love of showgirls and shoes. Christian Louboutin found work as an apprentice at Charles Jourdan's shoe factory.
There is a story about the inspiration of the red soles. While the story may or may not be true, it does provide for interesting commentary. It has been reported that while working on a pair of high heels, Louboutin noticed a worker in the factory painting her fingernails with a bright red polish. Instantly, the idea came to him. He grabbed the nail polish from the worker and painted the soles of the shoes he was working on with the fire red fingernail polish. The signature was created.
It has been reported that originally Louboutin planned to paint the soles of different styles with different colors. But, sometimes success stops us in our tracks. Once the red sole shoes hit the runway they were such a hit that Louboutin decided that red was the only color for his spectacular creations.
And, so it is. Today Christian Louboutin has transformed himself from a high school drop out to one of the world's top designers of shoes. On a whim, he created a signature pair of red sole shoes that now distinguishes his creations for all others.
